Reading List

Well of course I don't read. Books are yummy to me, but my human loves to read them. Especially if they're about dogs.

Of course us dogs are fascinating. All of the sleeping, eating and pooping no wonder humans are envious of us.

Here are some of the dog books my human has read and really liked. They are now on high shelves away from my little puggie teeth.

  • Lucky Me by Christi Drue Dunlap- A great book about kids and dogs, introducing kids to dogs, teaching kids about dogs, you get the picture. www.luckymebook.com
  • The Wolf in the Parlor by Jon Franklin - a scientific look at dogs and the bond that has developed with humans over time. www.henryholt.com
  • Dogs Never Lie About Love by Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson - A reflection of the emotional world of dogs.
  • Dog Lover's Daily Companion by Wendy Nan Rees and Kristen Hampshire - 365 days of tricks and tips for living a rich life with your dog.
  • Dr. Greg's Dog Dish Diet by Dr. Greg Martinez DVM - An interesting view on how a dog's diet contributes to their health. http://dogdishdiet.com/press/about-dr-greg/
Does you human have a favorite dog book? My human would love to hear about it!!

Where's Wozie?

So we went to my favorite place in the entire world...Pug Saturday in San Jose, CA.

I knew something was up when we got in the car, just me and the she human. No Olli, Samson or Buddy. It seemed to take forever, but we finally got there.

So many Pugs! I love it! I ran, ran, chased a ball, sniffed some serious Pug butt and generally enjoyed myself.

I'm not sure if I'm in this picture, but does it really matter? Pug = cuteness no matter what.

I was so tired after all of that playing my human knew it was time to go. I can't wait to go again very soon!!

My BFF

When my humans brought me home I was a tiny 3lb baby. They were worried because they already had 2 big dogs. They weren't sure how they would get a long with me. Especially Buddy. He's a Rhodesian Ridgeback. My humans say that Rhodesians are made to hunt lions. Lions! So...naturally they were worried that Buddy would think I was food not friend.

Much to everyone's surprise Buddy is my BEST friend. He let's me chew on his ears, chase him around and generally act like a crazy pug. Buddy does have his way of getting back at me. He has been known to drag me by the tail (not fair, and he gets a loud BUDDY from the humans) as well as pick me up by the scruff of my neck.

All in all Buddy is my BFF and what would life be without a BFF???

Good Human

So lately it's been cold. I know, how cold can it be in California. But it's cold. Here I am on a sunny but cold day being thankful that my human is playing outside with me.

I don't play fetch really, don't catch a ball or Frisbee. But I still like my outside time. I like it so much that I really don't listen to my human when she calls me inside. She used to trick me by saying, "Rosie treats" but I'm wise to her ways now.

How much fun is it to watch my human run around the backyard??? ALOT!!

Human...pay attention to me!!

I know that blogging requires a computer and I like blogging. But seriously, why would anyone pay more attention to a computer than me?

So here I am trying my best to make my human forget the computer and play with the puggy. Do you think it worked?

Work, Work, Work

Most days my humans get up, walk us, feed us then leave us. They call it work. Apparently they need to work in order to get us treats, take us to the doggie hotel and generally make sure we have everything we need.

On some very special days I have gone to work with my human. Honestly I have no idea why she goes there everyday. She seems to do the same things there she does at home. Type on the computer, talk to people and take me out to pee and poop.

Everyone at work thought I was cute, cuddled me, made me chase my tail...you know the usual stuff.

It was tiring though. And I learned there is one thing my human can't do at work, but I can...

take a long nap!

Puppy Training

You wouldn't think I'd need training to be a puppy. It kinda comes naturally to me. But...my humans decided I needed to attend since my dog brothers went and loved it.

So here's how it goes:

There are LOTS of other puppies...big (a labradoodle?!?) medium sized (purebred terrier mutt) and small (me). We play, listen to our humans and get treats. What?!? that's it? Treats for sitting, treats for staying, everywhere I go a human had a treat. It was the most amazing thing.

The trainer was really nice. She let me get away with some stuff because I was so cute. She actually laughed and gave me treats even when I didn't sit or stay as long as I was supposed to.

In the end I wore this funny outfit, the result of some kind of contest and got a piece of paper that I couldn't chew.

Overall I highly recommend puppy training.
